Being Human Clothing will be entering the activewear category by April this year. The collaboration between Mandhana Industries and Salman Khan Foundation, is also targeting a turnover of Rs 220 crores this fiscal. Being Human sells casual wear to both men and women and is present across 16 countries including Middle East, Europe, Nepal and South Africa. This year it will launch clothes for boys in the age group 6-16 years. By March it will also be available in France.
Manish Mandhana, managing director, Mandhana Industries believes that the activewear segment in India is dominated by global players and no significant national player is in the market. So, Being Human sees this gap as a ‘big opportunity to provide value-for-money products’. The category is growing given the interest that the young are showing for fitness.
The market size of active sportswear goods in India is Rs 6,000 crores and is growing at 13 per cent year-on-year.
